STUDENTS ARE TRAINED TO REACH OUT TO OTHERS
Mat 28:19 Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.
This is of course known as the Great Commission and a student is not well trained as a disciple of Christ unless he has been trained to disciple others in turn.
We do not only teach them what the Scripture says in this regard, but train them in several ways. We take them to clinics, markets, boreholes and other places of public gathering, there to preach the Gospel, do one-on-one personal work and pray for people.
In the picture we see a number of students ministering the Word at a medical clinic under supervision of their teacher. They are here preaching to women waiting to receive medical treatment. Then they will go into the wards and pray for the sick.
A student explaining the significance of the story of the Flood to a small group of ladies in a home in one of the villages. Some students, once they get saved, will walk 10 to 20 kilometers to bring to their relatives the good tidings of salvation.
Here a bonfire was lit at night to provide light for showing the flip chart pictures. In many homes no torch, paraffin lantern or any other form of lighting equipment is to be found. At this specific meeting, there was an overwhelming sense of the Holy Spirit coming down upon two of the women, causing them to be born again.
Students are, of course, also taught to teach a discipleship class. Some of them found the Lord long before enrolling for a class themselves. They may, even by the end of their first year, be ready to be appointed as a class teacher. In this way Rivoni trains up its own staff.
PLEASE PRAY FOR THE FOLLOWING MATTERS
- That students may testify of their new birth and the reality of having communion with their Creator and God wherever they go.
- That their lives may shine forth the holiness and love of Christ, especially within their homes.
- That they will seek and experience the baptism in the Holy Spirit to equip them for spiritual service.
- That they will be willing to go wherever the Lord leads to proclaim the Lord Jesus as Saviour and King.
